Villa del Balbianello was the stage of some scenes from the film “Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones“. The directors, George Lucas and Jonathan Hales decide to show Villa del Balbianello as the retreat where Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker hid, while Obi-Wan Kenobi tracked down those responsible for attempting to assassinate Amidala and where the clandestine wedding of Skywalker and Amidala took place.
But Star Wars is not the only film shot at Villa del Balbianello: in 2006, Martin Campbell decided to set here some scenes from the movie 007 Casinò Royale, the 21st film in the saga of the most famous secret agent in the world, where Daniel Craig was treated after one of his many and eventful adventures.
